What is the CEMAC Gold Process Certification Scheme (CGPCS)

The CEMAC Gold Process Certification Scheme (CGPCS) is similar to the Kimberly Certificate. It will be issued by the government of the exporting country through the CEMAC Gold Council.

Every buyer is expected to have this document before they can carry out any business in the CEMAC zone. You can go to their website www.cemacgoldcouncil.org to download the application form and register.

After the registration you will be contacted and once you pay the fee, the certificate will be issued. With this certificate you can trade for life in the CEMAC Zone.

The CEMAC Gold Council is the international forum dedicated to eliminating conflict gold from the global trade. It was established in May 2015 in Cameroon, at a conference supported by the United Nations to address the problem of precious metal financing civil conflict in Central Africa.

The CEMAC Gold Council developed the CEMAC Gold Process Certification Scheme (CGPCS), launched in February 2016. It certifies the legitimate origin of Gold so as to halt the trade in conflict goods.

Today, the CEMAC Gold Council comprises 6 member governments, working in a tripartite coalition with civil society Observers and the WDC, which represents the industry.

Together, they collaborate to formulate rules regulating all imports and exports of Gold. Each government then develops its own border control and customs legislation accordingly.

The CGPCS is the start of the Gold journey. Without this certification, there is no route to market for Gold.

How to get the Certification

To get the certification takes just 5 days. What you have to do is go to the CEMAC Gold Council Website and create an account. Once you do that, an agent will contact you. A form will be provided for to fill and resend back to them. After filling the form and upon approval, an invoice will be sent to you. The CEMAC Gold Process Certification Scheme (CGPCS) costs $4,730 and it is for a lifetime. With this certificate you will be able to buy gold and other precious metals in any Central African Country.

Without this certification, it will be impossible for you to buy gold from any Central African Country. The gold will be seized during delivery by the authorities.
